Have an exciting learning experience at the Railway Museum!
The Railway museum here in Saijo honors local man Shinji Sogo, a pioneer of the Shinkansen (bullet train). The collection includes the first Zero-series Shinkansen along with a DF50 electric diesel locomotive, a C57 steam locomotive, a Kiha 65 express train, a DE10 electric diesel engine and the second test car of the gauge-convertible train. Visitors can ride in the driver’s seat and passenger coaches on some of the trains on display. The exhibition includes a large-scale train diorama (on which you can have your own train driving experience) and historic railway signage and signals. The museum is a great place for both adults and children.
